Kaylie Campbell drove in four runs on three hits to lead Beech Grove past Greensburg Jr. High 17-5 on Monday. Campbell doubled in the fifth scoring two, singled in the sixth scoring two, and doubled in the second scoring one. Beech Grove got on the board in the top of the first inning after Nola Alford doubled, scoring one run, Samarah Turner doubled, scoring two runs, and Kyrah Pierle homered to center field, scoring two runs. Beech Grove Middle extended their early lead with two runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI doubles by Campbell and Alford. Beech Grove scored six runs on four hits in the top of the fifth inning. Hayden Fanning doubled, scoring two runs, Campbell doubled, scoring two runs, and Addison Corn singled, scoring two runs. Turner opened the game for Beech Grove. The starting pitched surrendered eight runs and five runs over four and one-third innings, striking out four and walking one. Beech Grove accumulated 12 hits in the game. Fanning, Alford, and Pierle each collected multiple hits for Beech Grove. Beech Grove had patience at the plate, collecting 10 walks for the game. Fanning and Campbell led the team with two free passes each. Campbell and Turner each stole multiple bases for Beech Grove.
